Twelve structures

The structure follows the business.

One line on each. Most larger facilities combine more than one.

01

Senior debt

First-ranking debt at the lowest cost of capital, where the cash flow supports it.

02

Mezzanine & subordinated

Sits behind senior debt to stretch leverage without new equity.

03

Unitranche & stretch senior

Senior and junior debt in one facility, one lender group, one set of terms.

04

Bridge

Short-dated funding against a defined exit: a sale, a refinancing or a receipt.

05

Project finance

Limited-recourse debt secured on a project’s contracts and cash flows.

06

Acquisition finance

Debt to fund a purchase, sized to the combined business.

07

Asset-backed lending

Facilities secured on property, equipment, inventory or receivables.

08

Trade & receivables

Funding for the trade cycle: pre-export, invoice and supply-chain finance.

09

Working capital & revolving

Revolving lines that move with the business’s cash cycle.

10

Holdco, PIK & shareholder debt

Debt at holding-company level, with interest paid in kind where cash must stay in the business.

11

Revenue-based & venture debt

Unsecured funding for asset-light and growth businesses, repaid from revenue.

12

Refinancing & take-out

Replacing existing debt before the maturity or covenant becomes the problem.

Where the structuring is the mandate

When the answer is not a standard loan.

Some files are fundable only once the structure is right. That work is where we add the most.

MezzanineSubordinated
Stretch seniorUnitranche
Senior debtFirst-ranking, lowest cost

Layered capital stacks

Senior, mezzanine and holdco debt combined, with inter-creditor terms agreed so each layer knows where it stands.

No hard collateral

Asset-light, technology and e-commerce businesses funded on cash flow, contracts and recurring revenue.

Cross-border and multi-currency

Borrower, security and lenders in different jurisdictions, drawn and repaid in the currency the business earns in.

Time-critical and special situations

Bridges with a defined exit, rescue capital and refinancing ahead of a maturity wall.

What we need to give you an answer

Six things, not the whole file.

Send these and we will tell you quickly whether it is a file we can act on.

The company

Who it is, where it trades and who owns it.

What it needs

The type of facility, or the problem to be solved.

The amount

An indicative figure and the currency.

Purpose of funds

What the money will do, and how it will be repaid.

Trading history

Years trading and recent accounts.

Security available

Yes, partial or none. None is fine.

Our role, stated plainly. Royal Financial Group lends directly, and refinances, syndicates or participates its facilities through capital partners across the GCC, Europe and Asia. Every facility is subject to satisfactory due diligence, credit approval and formal documentation.

Frequently asked questions

Structures, answered.

Which structures does Royal Financial Group write?

Twelve: senior debt, mezzanine and subordinated, unitranche and stretch senior, bridge, project finance, acquisition finance, asset-backed lending, trade and receivables, working capital and revolving, holdco, PIK and shareholder debt, revenue-based and venture debt, and refinancing and take-out.

Can structures be combined?

Yes. Most larger facilities combine layers, for example senior debt with a mezzanine tranche, or a bridge with an agreed refinancing take-out. The stack is built around cash flow and the security actually available.

Do I need collateral?

No. We write secured and unsecured facilities. Where there is no hard collateral, the structure rests on cash flow, contracts and counterparty strength.

Which structure is right for my business?

It depends on what the money is for, how it will be repaid and what sits behind it. We diagnose that first, then propose the structure, and tell you plainly if another route fits better.

What do you need to give me an answer?

The company, what it needs, the amount involved, the purpose of funds, its trading history and the security available. None is fine.
