Why these insights matter

Written by the People Who Take the Credit Decision

These notes are not general commentary. They come from files we have lent on, arranged or refinanced, and focus on what a borrower actually needs to know before the money moves.

  • Drawn from live lending, not general commentary
  • Shows what a credit committee looks for, and why
  • Written for business owners, investors and project sponsors
  • Built to help you prepare a fundable file

Frequently asked

Questions about our insights.

Lending, refinancing, structured and project finance, due diligence, valuation, feasibility and risk, written from live work on the credit desk rather than general commentary.

Yes. We take the credit decision and write facilities directly, and refinance them through our capital partners, syndicating where a transaction calls for more capital.

No. We write both secured and unsecured facilities. Where there is no hard collateral, the structure is built around cash flow, contracts and recurring revenue.

Due diligence tests the numbers and assumptions a facility is priced on, so risks are found and addressed before money moves, not after.

Project finance is non-recourse or limited-recourse funding secured against a specific project's cash flows and assets rather than a sponsor's general balance sheet, commonly used for infrastructure, energy and large-scale developments.

Before it has to. While covenants are still met, refinancing is a commercial negotiation. Once they are breached, it becomes a workout and the options narrow.

New notes are added as they come out of live lending work rather than on a fixed schedule.
